Jaime Lee Berger, LISW

After completing an undergraduate education at the University of Iowa with majors in psychology and social work, I was employed as a youth worker in a residential treatment facility for adolescent girls court-ordered to treatment. After five years of work with adolescents in this setting, I returned to the University of Iowa to pursue my Master's degree in social work. For the final year of my Master’s curriculum, I completed an internship at the Adoption & Attachment Treatment Center of Iowa (AATC) where I first came to understand child behavior through the lens of attachment and complex trauma. After earning my degree in May of 2007, I was hired as a clinician at AATC, where I worked with adoptive families for the following two years. Since 2008 I have worked closely with two providers of a developmental movement program called Neurological Reorganization (NR). In addition to the services I provide, I facilitate access to NR for families in Iowa and provide support to implement this program successfully. I formed Creating Connections Counseling, PLLC in January 2010 to carry on the mission of bringing peace and connectedness to adoptive families.
