Happy New Year to all!!! It’s hard to believe 2011 is already here! As I reflect on the last year, I know that I have much to be grateful for, and at the top of my list is the success I have had in the first year of my independent practice. The fourth of July holiday reminded me to write a letter to keep everyone updated about all the news at CCC. It’s hard to believe half the year has gone by already! Things have been going very well for me and my independent practice at Creating Connections Counseling. I continue to have a full caseload of families dealing with adoption, attachment, and trauma. I anticipate having openings to add new families in the fall.

I am writing this newsletter to inform old friends, clients, and colleagues about my new practice, Creating Connections Counseling. As most of you know, I was previously employed at the Adoption & Attachment Treatment Center of Iowa, but unfortunately that clinic closed its doors in December of 2009. Having obtained my independent license, I decided to carry on the mission of healing families dealing with adoption, attachment, and trauma in my own independent practice. The past two months have been a whirlwind as I worked to close my old practice and venture out on my own.
